Seeking a Seasonal Museum Assistant

Pioneer Trails Regional Museum is looking for a part-time or full-time seasonal worker to assist with day-to-day operations of the museum. Position will run May through September, with flexible start and end dates. Must be willing to work some Saturdays. Salary dependent on experience and skill set. 

Job Duties/Skills:

  • Possess good communication skills, oral and written.
  • Interact successfully with visitors, callers, community members, museum staff, and board members.
  • Maintain clean, organized interior of museum.
  • Assist museum director with a variety of duties.
  • Assist department heads with various projects.
  • Assist visitors with admission, gift shop sales, and research. 
  • Promote museum and museum activities.

Minimum Education/Skills Required:

  • Desire to work with the public or equivalent work experience in a similar setting
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Must be able and willing to work flexible days and hours.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying 20 pounds short distances.
